GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colorado–(BUSINESS WIRE)–East Daley Analytics, Inc. today announced that its unique pipeline financial dataset is now available through Bloomberg’s Enterprise Access Point. The Pipeline Financial Dataset provides consolidated historical Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) pipeline financial data (dating back to 2005) updated weekly to handle late and revised quarterly filings. Financial data has also been enhanced with layers of metadata that give ownership percentages and Legal Entity Identifiers (LEIs) at the asset and property level, giving customers a variety of ways to use the data.
“This unique data set on Bloomberg provides analysts with transparency on due diligence projects and business impact,” said Andy Ptacek, senior director of analytics at East Daley. “Working with Bloomberg accelerates our clients’ return on investment by reducing time-consuming and costly procurement processes.”
The pipeline financial dataset includes income statements, cash flow statements and balance sheets for natural gas, crude oil, natural gas liquids (NGL) and refined products pipelines organized into a accounting format more commonly accepted than gross government presentation so that it can be directly integrated into financial models. Key features include:
Annualized calculations of negotiated, discounted revenues and maximum tariffs for gas pipelines to determine the return on investment (ROE) on the downside;
Quarterly updated income statements for all FERC-regulated NGL pipelines against net income;
Natural gas and liquids pipeline ownership matrix to clearly see who owns what; and
Pipeline financial data converted from FERC accounting to generally accepted accounting presentation of principles (GAAP).
“Another benefit of getting this information through East Daley and Bloomberg Enterprise Access Point is that it includes FERC data going back further in history as well as for 1Q2021 and 2Q2021,” Ptacek added. “This data is more difficult to access since FERC changed the reporting requirement from Visual FoxPro to XBRL for a number of their forms effective October 1, 2021.”
As a trusted data source, Bloomberg helps clients easily integrate high-value data in context into their analytics and workflows. Bloomberg has provided a variety of alternative datasets through the Bloomberg Terminal for over a decade. More recently, some of these datasets have been made available through Bloomberg’s Data License product.
Bloomberg Enterprise Access Point is Bloomberg’s web-based data marketplace that enables data license customers to immediately discover, access and use high-quality, market-leading content from Bloomberg and third-party providers. . Recently, Bloomberg announced the expansion of its alternative data offering, representing a threefold increase in the number of third-party alternative data providers available since the product’s introduction in February 2019. The move allows Bloomberg customers to access a very extensive catalog of curated alternative data uniquely positioned to provide insight into the current market environment.
