SEOUL, July 8 (Korea Bizwire) — The most frequently used data in the two years since the launch of the open public financial data service was company information, a leading financial regulator said on Thursday.
The Financial Services Commission (FSC) said on Thursday that a total of 87 application program interfaces (APIs) and more than 1.2 billion data records were opened in the period from the launch of the public financial data service until the end of June this year.
From June 2020, public institutions under the umbrella of the Financial Services Commission and related special corporations such as the Korea Stock Exchange and the Financial Services Association opened their public financial data in an open API format through the public data portal on a step-by-step basis.
The most frequently used API was corporate financial information, with 29.9 million requests, or 45.7% of the total.
Other frequently used APIs included basic company information, stock issuance information, and short-term financial securities issuance information.
The most frequently requested data was basic company information, followed by company financial information, stock price information, and stock dividend information.
The FSC noted that financial information was mainly used for business analysis or research purposes, while company information, market prices and dividends were used for web services or business development. apps.
